Relationships
?

Although Mackenzie had free will, he resented Heth's straightforwardness regarding his choices. In contrast to his sharp responses to Kirk's cruelty, his reactions to Mackenzie's behavior were markedly colder. Mackenzie holds Heth partially accountable for his decisions, reasoning that if Heth truly believed those choices were misguided, he would have taken action to prevent them instead of simply 'pushing him around'.

Heth's relationship with Kirk is complex and multifaceted. While it is plausible that Heth accepted the fact that Kirk utilized him for his own purposes, he was primarily disillusioned by Kirk's moral compass. It is important to note that Heth did not overtly judge Kirk; rather, he expressed disappointment in his actions. He openly conveyed his belief that Kirk's actions were cruel, presenting this as a fact rather than an accusation.

Although Heth did not condone Kirk's behavior, he may have attempted to encourage him to reconsider his choices. However, such encouragement was neither forceful nor abusive.

While Heth could have harbored feelings of disdain towards Kirk's monstrous behavior, there exists an intriguing, almost addictive aspect to their dynamic.

It’s hard to tell if he thinks he should stop Kirk, more like he doesn't. For Heth, this isn’t a good vs. evil scenario; he seems to really value Kirk’s right to make his own choices. Even if his motivations have changed, that focus on letting Kirk decide for himself still seems to matter to him.

Heth is manipulative, always has been. He used that skill with Kirk, not just to play against him, but as a fundamental aspect of his communication style, not necessarily in a negative way.

Even though Heth usually seems indifferent, Kirk has a special way of making him smirk without even trying, and Heth can't help but let it happen.
